Movie Appreciation 101

I took Film 10 as a personal choice, not because I was simply in desperate need for another subject under the Arts and Humanities domain but because of my genuine fondness for movies (with the exception of horror films). I would have to say that the most significant lesson I have learned from our Film class is evidently the utmost appreciation for any category of motion picture, most especially the reception to its aesthetics and technicalities.

Neigh Kid Pee Pole

Isa ako sa mga mapalad na walang klase nang maganap ang The Great Oblation Run noong ika-15 ng Disyembre 2010. Ang Oblation Run ay taunang isinasagawa ng Alpha Phi Omega o APO Fraternity. Nakatatak sa mga damit ng mga miyembrong hindi tatakbo ang mga katagang “who bought who bad too mock boo” (hubo’t hubad tumakbo). Ayon sa APO Fraternity, ang Oblation Run daw ay “the ritual dance of the brave.”

Palawan: Freakin' Unbelievable

Last week, we went to Palawan for a much-awaited vacation. WARNING: This is my blog so don't expect a lot of sceneries since most, if not all of the pictures below, are all about ME. :D

We stayed at Dangkalan Resort, a 20-minute drive from the airport.

June 1, 2011

This would have to be the worst and best day of my life.

The worst part:

My friend told me that the deadline for passing the requirements for shifting was yesterday. I panicked and called the College of Arts and Letters at once. They told me to just hurry and they would still accept my papers. This was another reason I wanted to shift to SpeechComm--people from CAL are so nice compared to those from other colleges. I went to the College of Engineering to get my permit to transfer but the people there told me that it was still not ready. I waited until 4PM. They said I would have to come back tomorrow. Once I walked out of the office, I broke down. If this continues, I might not be able to shift. I could not stop crying. The only thing I have ever wanted this badly was to shift and it was like they were trying to take it away from me, so I called the only person who can help me: my Mom.

The best part:

Yes. I want to thank my Mom for making away (just kidding) the people there, and they told her that my permit was ready. So I hurried to CAL and then to OUR. The result:

I am officially (well, not really since I am not enrolled yet) a SpeechComm student after two years of blood and fire and a whole lot of sweat and waste of money. Yey!

Iskolar ng Bayan

Hey there! I'm Arlyn Eunice Rivera, 17 years old. I know I'm not supposed to say private things on a public blog, but what the hell, it's summer. I'm bored to death and I seriously have nothing else to do but to download movies, so I might as well make good use of the internet and impart my silly thoughts to the whole world (even though I am pretty certain no one actually cares).

Anyway, I am an incoming junior at the University of the Philippines Diliman. I know you're asking, "What's your course?" That would have to be the most irritating question I have heard for two years; I was truly desperate to shift out of my college. Why, you may ask? I must warn you, the story you might read is all about me. If you do not like my conceitedness, leave. :)
